Having had the C5 on test for a little over a week, I just couldn’t get used to how different and futuristic the design looks, which is a good thing, mind you. The general public has also shown a positive reaction toward this sleek and futuristic vehicle, representing a remarkable fusion of cutting-edge technology, eco-conscious design, and exceptional performance. In this article, we’ll delve into the exciting features and advancements that define the C5.
Interior Design
The interior of the C5 truly embodies the elegance implied by its name, especially in this specific trim (which is the Elegance model). Not only did I feel like I was in a much more premium car, but I also experienced a high level of comfort. While there is a fair amount of plastic used in the interior, it honestly doesn’t feel cheap. The interior feels solid, with everything well put together, regardless of the materials used, from the center console to the dashboard and door panels.
The overall attention to detail is impeccable, with every element meticulously crafted to create a sense of opulence. From the sumptuous leather seats which are not only electrically adjustable but ventilated as well, to the sleek, ergonomic dashboard, the interior exudes a refined elegance. The use of premium materials throughout the cabin elevates the overall feel, ensuring that every touchpoint exudes quality. Despite its luxurious ambiance, the C5’s interior is also highly functional, with intuitive controls and ample storage spaces. Whether you’re embarking on a long journey or simply running errands around town, the C5’s interior design and feel makes every drive a truly enjoyable experience.
Performance
The 1.5L engine was designed to provide me with an exhilarating driving experience, delivering a responsive and powerful ride. With 115kw of power and 230nm of torque, this engine ensured that I had no trouble navigating busy city streets or cruising on the open highway. Whether I was merging onto the freeway or overtaking slower traffic, this engine proved to be more than capable, making every journey a pleasure.
Although I wasn’t really sure about the fuel efficiency, I drove a little over 900km with the C5, and I must say I was expecting slightly lower fuel consumption. Omoda claims 6.9/100km, but I averaged about 8.1/100km while driving in Eco mode pretty much the entire time (If I were to estimate the range I’ve driven in Sport mode, I would say it’s about 30km), which is honestly not bad for an SUV, especially one that is nimble to drive as well.

To conclude this short review, I would say I thoroughly enjoyed the C5. The price is perfect as well, offering excellent value for the level of luxury and performance it delivers.
